Arcohe Electronic Sign

Students and Families,

We are excited to start the new school year tomorrow and cannot wait to see you! As we get set for the first day, we wanted to send out a couple announcements and reminders:

·        School starts at 8:10 with students allowed to be on campus starting at 7:45. If your child is not riding the bus, please drop them off by the main office or in front of the middle school between 7:45 - 8:05. We will have staff out there directing traffic, so please watch out for their directions

·        First day pictures - Although many of you take first day photos at home, we will have a couple photo backdrop stations throughout campus if you wanted to take a picture or two before they head off to class. The nine years at Arcohe can go pretty fast, so do not miss a moment!

·        The first two days of school are early-release days with school being let out at 12:30 on both Thursday and Friday. Students will be served lunch prior to dismissal. School times will return to normal starting next Monday.

·        To break the ice on the first couple of days, we are designating these days as "No Backpack Days" to encourage classes to focus on building a classroom community as opposed to jumping right into academics. Students should not worry about bringing a backpack to school on these first two days nor should they stress about having that dreaded homework!

·        Cell phones - we are seeing a growing trend of students' reliance on cell phones to get through their daily lives. We value personal connection and having students being present in class and with their friends so we are asking for all cell phones to be turned off and put away during the school day. We will remind the students the first couple of weeks, but if students continue to violate this policy, we will work with your student and the family to help them put their phone away for the day

·        School meal confirmation forms - middle school families should have received an email about completing the school meal forms for the 2024-25 school year.

·        If you have questions or do not know exactly where to go in the morning, do not worry, there are always a lot of people here to help. The thing you will learn about Arcohe (if you did not already) is the people here are special, whether you are a student, parent, community member or staff. Everyone seems to care for everyone else because we have a community unlike any other! Falcon Pride is a real thing!

See you before the first bell!
