April 4, 2020
Arcohe Families,
I am writing to you with great sadness in my heart. With the continued coronavirus threat to our community, Arcohe Union School District has decided to remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. This decision was made in consultation with the Sacramento County Office of Education and with a strong urging from the Sacramento Public Health Department to remain closed to continue to try to flatten the curve.
During this time, students will still continue to receive instruction from our wonderful teachers in many different formats. To help with instruction, student work packets will be dispersed according to the schedule listed below. Not all classes will have work to pick up each week. Your teacher will let you know if there is something more to pick up.
Packet Pickup Dates | Duration of Work to Cover | |
Week 1 | April 9 & 10 | April 14 - April 24 |
Week 2 | April 23 & 24 | April 27 - May 8 |
Week 3 | May 7 & 8 | May 11 - May 29 (three weeks) |
Also, since we know not all families have the proper technology at home, we will be handing out Chromebooks, iPads and hotspots to families, based on their responses to the technology survey. If you have not already done so, please fill out this survey immediately.

Free breakfasts and lunches will continue to be offered daily starting again on Tuesday, April 14th from the hours of 11AM – 12PM. Remember, this food is for any child under the age of 18 in the home and the federal government has eased the requirements so the children do not need to be in the car during the time of pickup. Please stop by every day for two meals. The only cost of this program is a smile, and we strictly enforce this requirement.
We miss you and your students more than you will ever know. Please stay safe and we hope to see you very soon!
Take care,
Troy Miller
